The European legal entity's name matches, but Vietnamese clients do not belong to it

CySEC register, 19/08/2026: CIF 278/15, legal entity Tickmill Europe Ltd. The word "Europe" in the name already makes the scope clear.

The ASIC register does not list Tickmill. The broker also declares the FCA and FSCA.

For Vietnamese clients, the question is not "does Tickmill have a licence" but "is the legal entity that signs a contract with me covered by any of the licences above". Tickmill Europe Ltd serves EU clients; clients outside the region usually sign with a different legal entity, and protection follows the legal entity, not the brand.

Tickmill's legal profile: the name matches in Cyprus, but “Europe” is the key word

Two bottom lines before you read on. One: Tickmill's costs really are low. The Raw spread starts from 0.0 pip, plus commission of 3 USD/lot per side, among the most competitive.

Two: the FCA 717270 and CySEC 278/15 licences are real, but Vietnamese clients sign their contract with the Seychelles legal entity (FSA SD008), where there is no investor compensation fund.

The 4.5 score we give Tickmill is a score for trading conditions, not for the level of legal protection you actually receive. This whole Tickmill 2026 review is about keeping those two things apart.

Tickmill was founded in 2014, is headquartered in London and declares four licences: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus), FSCA (South Africa), FSA (Seychelles).

The CySEC register lists CIF 278/15, legal entity Tickmill Europe Ltd. The name matches the brand, good. But the word “Europe” in the name already makes the scope clear: this legal entity serves EU clients.

The ASIC register does not list Tickmill. For the FCA and FSCA, the broker's own disclosure gives FCA no. 717270.

For you, the right question is not “does Tickmill have a licence”, it does, several in fact. The right question is “which of the licences above covers the legal entity that signs a contract with me”.

For Vietnamese clients, the answer is usually the Seychelles legal entity (FSA SD008), and protection follows the legal entity, not the brand. The FCA has an investor compensation fund; Seychelles does not.

Typing "Tickmill" into the CySEC search box returns the entity above, so this is a broker you can check yourself by its brand name.

The same regulator keeps one more list that few people open: the domains each entity is allowed to operate. For Tickmill Europe Ltd, that list has exactly one domain: www.tickmill.com/eu .

A domain you sign up on that is not in that list belongs to a different entity, not the Cyprus entity above.

Tickmill costs: where it is cheap, and who it is cheap for

This is where Tickmill scores. Three account types, all with the same 100 USD minimum deposit:

Raw, spread from 0.0 pip + commission 3 USD/lot per side, i.e. 6 USD round trip.

Classic, spread from 1.6 pip, no commission.

Raw (TradingView), 0.0 pip + commission ~3.5 USD/lot.

Doing the maths for you: 6 USD round trip is equivalent to ~0.6 pip on EUR/USD; add the actual spread at execution (from 0.0 pip) to get the Raw account's all-in cost, i.e. from ~0.6 pip upwards.

Compared with Classic's 1.6 pip, anyone trading a few orders a week or more should almost always choose Raw. Classic only wins when you trade very rarely and want fees wrapped into a single number.

Be careful: Tickmill is imitated, and the copies are more dangerous than the real one

This deserves its own section. There are at least two fake sites using near-identical names: “TickMill Pro Trade” (tickmillprotrade.com, claiming headquarters in Houston, USA. WikiFX rates it 1.43/10, no licence of any kind) and “TickmillGroupUS”. These are fake brokers copying the name, with no connection to the real Tickmill.

The real Tickmill uses only the tickmill.com domain, with FCA licence no. 717270 that you can look up yourself on register.fca.org.uk. Never deposit money on the copycat sites, for people who type a broker's name into Google and click the first result, the biggest risk of “Tickmill” does not lie with Tickmill.

Deposits, withdrawals and platforms

Deposit and withdrawal channels include bank transfer, card, e-wallet and crypto; withdrawals are usually processed within the business day, depending on the method. E-wallets and crypto arrive faster than bank transfers, and finishing KYC early means fewer delays.

Platforms are MT4, MT5 and TradingView. There is no cTrader, so scalpers used to depth-of-market will miss it, but in return the TradingView integration is something many brokers in the same segment do not yet have. Fast execution, scalping and EAs allowed.

Two blemishes on Tickmill worth watching

Not a scam model: four licences including the FCA, 12 years of operation since 2014, and every licence number can be looked up on the issuing regulator's own register.

But I will not hide two blemishes: past unresolved complaints led WikiFX to lower the broker's score to about 7.6/10, and Trustpilot temporarily suspended its rating in 2026. These are not complaints about blocked withdrawals, but they are something worth watching rather than assuming all is well.

Beyond that, most negative feedback about Tickmill falls into familiar groups: not reading account conditions carefully, losses from leverage, and being asked for extra documents when withdrawing large amounts; that last group is a compliance procedure, not a tactic to hold on to money. Tickmill is not licensed in Vietnam; you are responsible for your own choice.

Who should open a Tickmill account?

People who prioritise low costs on a foundation of transparent Tier-1 licences, who are past the learning stage and have the 100 USD to get in. That is exactly the target group. People who need a large Vietnamese-speaking community and extensive local support will find Tickmill quieter.

If you decide to try it, do not skip a small test withdrawal, and compare the actual fees yourself with the figures in this article.

Check Tickmill yourself before depositing a large amount

  1. Real cost. Open the price board on your own account at two different times of day, then add spread and commission into a cost per lot. The figure the broker publishes is an average; what you get on a given trade can be higher.
  2. Withdrawal speed. Withdraw a small amount first and note when you requested it and when the money arrived. Speed depends on the payment channel and your verification status, so there is no single figure.
  3. Legal entity. Read the company name in your account terms. That name decides where you can complain.

Frequently asked questions

Is Tickmill trustworthy?

Tickmill (tickmill.com) has operated since 2014 and is licensed by the UK FCA (no. 717270) and CySEC, a group of Tier-1 licences with investor compensation schemes. Downside: past unresolved complaints led WikiFX to lower its score to about 7.6/10. That FCA licence is held by the UK legal entity; Vietnamese clients usually sign with a different legal entity in the same group, so open the account terms and read the company name before depositing.

Is “TickMill Pro Trade” the same as Tickmill?

NO. “TickMill Pro Trade” (tickmillprotrade.com, claiming headquarters in Houston, USA) is a FAKE broker copying the name. WikiFX rates it 1.43/10, and it holds no licence of any kind. There is also a similar “TickmillGroupUS”. The real Tickmill uses only the tickmill.com domain, with FCA licence no. 717270 that can be looked up on register.fca.org.uk. Never deposit money on sites that copy the name.

What are Tickmill's spreads and fees?

The Raw account has spreads from 0.0 pip plus commission of 3 USD/lot per side (6 USD round trip). The Classic account has no commission but spreads from 1.6 pip. Add the commission in when comparing total cost.
