This review scores trading conditions. The legal entity and licences are covered separately: Is HFM (HotForex) a scam? Licences and real risks (2026)
HFM (formerly HotForex, founded 2010, FCA/CySEC/DFSA/FSCA licences) stands out for a very wide range of accounts, from Cent with 0 USD capital to professional Pro.
HFM (HotForex) in one paragraph
If I could say only one sentence about HFM, it would be this: at this broker, choosing the right account type matters more than choosing the broker.
The account range of HFM (HotForex) runs from Cent with a 0 USD deposit to Zero with 0 pip spreads, the widest among the brokers popular with Vietnamese traders, and that is the main reason to open an account here.
This 2026 HFM review scores the trading conditions and walks through the real costs, deposits and withdrawals, plus two community complaints you should read before depositing: gold slippage and the cases of rejected withdrawals.
Legal entities, licences and complaints about the broker have a separate article: Is HFM (HotForex) trustworthy?
Score across 6 criteria: 4.4/5, label: wide range of accounts, suits every level.
Formerly HotForex, renamed HFM; founded 2010, headquartered in Cyprus / Mauritius. Licences: FCA, CySEC, DFSA, FSCA, FSC. Platforms: MT4, MT5 (desktop/web) and a mobile app. Accounts: Cent, Zero, Pro, Premium, extending to Premium Pro and VIP Pro. Maximum leverage up to 1:2000 depending on the legal entity.
HFM's licences and the actual legal entity for Vietnamese clients
HFM operates through multiple legal entities: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus), DFSA (Dubai), FSCA (South Africa), FSC (Mauritius). As is usual with this kind of structure, most Vietnamese clients fall under the international HF Markets legal entity in Mauritius: higher leverage, and a different level of protection from the FCA/CySEC branch. The broker applies segregation of client money and negative balance protection.
To check for yourself: look up the licence number HFM publishes on the website of the corresponding regulator, for example fca.org.uk. In Vietnam no broker is licensed yet, and there is no exception for HFM there.
| CySEC register, 12/09/2026 | |
|---|---|
| Licence number | CIF 183/12 |
| Licensed entity | HF Markets (Europe) Ltd |
| Date granted | 20/11/2012 |
| Company registration number | 277582 |
HF Markets (Europe) Ltd Licence Number : 183/12 Licence Date: 20/11/2012 Company Registration Number : 277582
Typing "HFM" into the CySEC search box returns no results. Not because the licence does not exist, but because the register only stores the entity name, which is HF Markets (Europe) Ltd. Search by number 183/12 and it appears.
The same regulator keeps one more list that few people open: the domains each entity is allowed to
operate. For HF Markets (Europe) Ltd, that list has
2 domains:
www.hfeu.com, https://www.hfaffiliates.com/eu/en/index.html .
A domain you sign up on that is not in that list belongs to a different entity, not the Cyprus entity above.
The old brand name on Japan's warning list, and how to read it correctly
The list of unregistered entities that received warning letters from Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA) has one entry belonging to this group, under the old brand name:
| Legal entity named | Service name listed | Date |
|---|---|---|
| HF Markets (SV) Ltd | HotForex | 8/2017 |
Do not read it as a scam accusation. The reason given in the list is soliciting OTC derivatives trading over the internet without being registered in Japan, a matter of a licence to operate in one market, not a conclusion about how clients are treated.
The list has more than 400 entries, including many familiar big brands; Vietnam has no equivalent public list, so this is one of the few places where you can look up which legal entity has solicited retail clients across borders.
Two things to note: this entry dates from 2017, before HotForex was renamed HFM, and it is tied to the Saint Vincent legal entity, not the FCA or CySEC entity. It says nothing about the Tier-1 licence group above; it only adds one more reason to read the legal entity name in your account terms.
The account range: HFM's biggest asset
Four main names, each with its own job:
Cent: deposit from 0 USD, balance counted in cents. The newest trader's practice ground, where mistakes cost small change.
Zero: spread from 0.0 pip plus commission, for people who count every cent of fees.
Pro: low spread, no commission, for people with experience.
Premium: balanced conditions for everyday trading.
What is good about this range: you start very light and grow gradually without changing broker, which saves you the cost of relearning everything from scratch. What is bad lies in the range itself: the gap in conditions between types is large, and picking the wrong type means paying fees you did not need to.
Costs, 1:2000 leverage and the 100% bonus
The fee question: Zero brings the spread down to 0.0 pip but charges commission, Pro has a low spread with no commission. Compare the two routes by the total cost of one lot on the exact pair you trade most, not by the two spread figures.
Maximum leverage up to 1:2000 depending on the legal entity. That number sells very well and the danger is very real: leverage does not raise your odds of winning, it only multiplies the consequences. The discipline worth keeping is to cap the risk per trade as a percentage of capital, no matter how much leverage the broker offers.
As for bonuses, HFM has a deposit bonus programme of up to 100%. As with every forex bonus: the bonus money usually cannot be withdrawn directly and comes with volume conditions. Read all the terms before accepting it, and never deposit just to chase the bonus; that is the shortest road to the “rejected withdrawal” section below.
Deposits and withdrawals: e-wallet/crypto fast, bank slow, and one warning
Channels: local bank transfer, cards, e-wallets, crypto. Deposits are usually instant. Withdrawals via e-wallet/crypto take about 3–5 minutes, most arrive within 24h, and the broker charges no fees. Withdrawals via the bank gateway are another story: 2–3 working days, clearly slower.
A warning you must read: there are reports of HFM rejecting withdrawals on the grounds of “breach of trading conditions” without clear evidence, with details in the experience section below.
Three things to protect yourself: read the account terms carefully, prefer withdrawing via e-wallet/crypto, and try withdrawing a small amount early to verify before depositing large sums.
Platforms and support
MT4 and MT5 are fully available on desktop/web, and the mobile app is praised as flexible with fast execution. Support and materials are available in Vietnamese. A drawback shared by the whole group of international brokers: there is no representative office in Vietnam, so urgent support takes a more roundabout route.
Strengths in short: an account range for every level; entry from 0 USD; multi-tier regulation FCA/CySEC/DFSA; a rich training library. Limitations: a large gap in conditions between account types; most Vietnamese clients are under an offshore legal entity; not licensed in Vietnam.
What the Vietnamese trader community says about HFM (HotForex)
A summary of public feedback, keeping both praise and criticism.
Praise: many payment gateways convenient for Vietnamese users, instant deposits, e-wallet/crypto withdrawals in 3–5 minutes, no deposit/withdrawal fees from the broker; a flexible app with fast execution; an account range from Cent to Zero/Pro that covers every type of user.
Criticism and points to note: bank withdrawals take 2–3 days; cases of withdrawals rejected for “breach of trading conditions” without specific evidence; warnings about slippage when trading gold; no representative in Vietnam.
Gold slippage on HFM: read carefully if XAUUSD is your main instrument
Feedback from some Vietnamese traders: when trading XAUUSD on HFM at volatile moments, the fill price lands far from the price they clicked.
Gold is an instrument that slips at every broker, and I do not treat a single case as evidence; but this complaint repeats often enough that I put it in the must-know-in-advance category, not in the rumours-you-can-ignore category.
How to reduce the risk if you still trade gold here: use pending (limit) orders instead of market orders around news times, and test with small volume before going to your real size.
Withdrawals rejected for “breach of trading conditions”: how it works and how to avoid it
The reported cases are usually tied to suspected bonus abuse, arbitrage, or strategies prohibited in the terms.
The risk is real, but mostly avoidable: read the account terms and bonus conditions carefully before trading, avoid trading styles that are easily flagged (taking a bonus and then hedging is the classic example), and keep your trading history transparent. And the cheapest test, mentioned for the third time because it deserves it: withdraw a small amount early, before depositing large sums.
HotForex complaints: what is real and the context behind it
Search that phrase and the real complaints include: the domestic Local Banking deposit/withdrawal gateway once disappeared, disrupting transactions; some people reported sudden fee increases without notice; the bank transfer gateway responds slowly; plus a few reports of slippage and off-price fills.
Set against the context: HFM holds FCA (UK), DFSA (UAE) and FSA (Seychelles) licences and has operated continuously for many years. Most opinions in the community do not place HFM in the systematic scam model, but in the group of operational incidents plus bonus terms risk.
The safe way to play is unchanged: prefer e-wallet/crypto for withdrawals, read fees and bonus conditions carefully, and try a withdrawal early.
Complaints about HFM come down to three roots
Not a scam model, based on the FCA/CySEC/DFSA/FSCA/FSC record and sixteen years of operation since 2010. Negative complaints mostly come down to three roots: misunderstanding account conditions, high leverage burning through accounts, and verification requests when withdrawing large amounts; the last root is a compliance procedure.
The withdrawal rejection cases mentioned above, on the other hand, belong to the terms-risk category, and you guard against them by reading carefully before trading. HFM is not licensed in Vietnam, and you bear responsibility for your own choice.
Who should use HFM (HotForex)?
Best fit: people who want to start with very small capital on Cent and then climb gradually to Zero/Pro without changing broker, and people who need fast e-wallet/crypto deposits and withdrawals.
The condition that comes with it: you are willing to read the withdrawal and bonus terms, because that is where this broker causes the most disputes. Beginners should follow the standard rhythm: small capital, leverage tightened by yourself even though the broker offers up to 1:2000, and trial trades before scaling up.
Weighing HFM against Exness

Exness sits in the recommended column for its mostly automatic withdrawal processing (processing time may vary depending on the payment method you choose); HFM answers with a 0 USD entry point and a wider account range.
- Many account types for every level
- You can start from 0 USD (Cent/Zero)
- Multi-tier regulation (FCA/CySEC/DFSA…)
- Rich training library
- Large gap in conditions between account types
- Most Vietnamese clients are under an offshore legal entity
Check HFM (HotForex) yourself before depositing a large amount
- Real cost. Open the price board on your own account at two different times of day, then add spread and commission into a cost per lot. The figure the broker publishes is an average; what you get on a given trade can be higher.
- Withdrawal speed. Withdraw a small amount first and note when you requested it and when the money arrived. Speed depends on the payment channel and your verification status, so there is no single figure.
- Legal entity. Read the company name in your account terms. That name decides where you can complain.

Complaints about gold slippage (XAUUSD) on HFM: a real issue you should know about
If you plan to trade a lot of gold, this is the angle to read. Some Vietnamese traders report heavy slippage when trading XAUUSD on HFM at volatile moments, with the fill price landing quite far from the price they clicked.
Gold is volatile by nature and slippage happens at many brokers, but this complaint repeats often enough to be worth noting.
How to reduce the risk: prefer pending (limit) orders over market orders when entering gold during news, and test with small volume before trading big.
Withdrawals rejected for “breach of trading conditions”: understand it to avoid it
There are reports of HFM rejecting some withdrawals on the grounds of “breach of trading conditions” without citing specific evidence, usually linked to suspected bonus abuse, arbitrage or strategies prohibited in the terms.
This risk is real but mostly avoidable: read the account terms and bonus conditions carefully before trading, avoid trading styles that are easily flagged (for example taking a bonus and then hedging), and keep your trading history transparent.
As with any broker: try withdrawing a small amount early to verify before depositing large sums.
Is HFM (HotForex) a scam? Real complaints and context
For the search phrase “HotForex scam”, these are the real complaints worth knowing: the domestic Local Banking deposit/withdrawal gateway once “disappeared”, disrupting transactions, and some people reported sudden fee increases without notice.
The bank transfer gateway responds slowly, along with a few reports of slippage and off-price fills (The Brokers, archived copy 10/10/2024, 55brokers).
Balanced context: HFM is licensed by FCA (UK), DFSA (UAE), FSA (Seychelles) and has operated for many years; most opinions do not see HFM as a systematic scam model, but as a mix of operational incidents + bonus terms risk.
The safe approach: prefer withdrawing via e-wallet/crypto (faster than banking), read fees and bonus conditions carefully, and try a withdrawal early.
The community's bottom line: HFM is rated decently thanks to its wide account range and fast e-wallet/crypto deposits and withdrawals, but note that bank withdrawals are slower, along with a few reports of rejected withdrawals and gold slippage. Read the account conditions carefully, prefer withdrawing via e-wallet/crypto and try a withdrawal early to verify.
