Licences the broker lists CySEC · FSCA · FSA·head office Cyprus
The OctaFX broker (founded 2011, CySEC/FSCA licences) targets traders with small capital through a no-commission model and the easy-to-use OctaTrader platform.
The OctaFX brand, a legal entity named Octa
The Cyprus licence is CIF 372/18, held in the name of Octa Markets Cyprus Ltd (checked 19/08/2026). The entity name drops the two letters FX compared with the brand, so searching the register for "OctaFX" will not return a matching result.
A note on how to search: typing the string "Octa" into the register also returns Broctagon Prime Ltd (CIF 320/17), a completely different company, simply because those four letters sit inside its name. When searching a register, always match the full name rather than stopping at the first approximate result.
The ASIC register on the same day has no licence under the name Octa.
Who OctaFX is, and what the legal entity in the register is called
The 4.2 score we give OctaFX is a score for trading conditions, 25 USD to get in, no commission, not a score for its legal standing.
In 9/2025, CySEC suspended the voting rights of the controlling shareholder; in India, the authorities attached more than 26.81 billion rupees. And you, as a Vietnamese client, sign a contract with an offshore legal entity that sits outside CySEC's scope. This OctaFX 2026 review keeps those two matters separate instead of blending them into a single score.
OctaFX was founded in 2011, is headquartered in Cyprus, and holds CySEC, FSCA and FSA licences. The broker is clearly positioned for traders with small capital: a no-commission model and the easy-to-use OctaTrader platform.
Looking it up comes with a small trap. The Cyprus licence is CIF 372/18, but it is held by Octa Markets Cyprus Ltd, a legal entity that drops the two letters “FX” compared with the brand.
Typing “OctaFX” into the register will not return a matching result, and someone searching in a hurry can easily conclude, wrongly, that the broker is unlicensed.
The second trap is even more awkward: typing the string “Octa” makes the register also return Broctagon Prime Ltd (CIF 320/17).
A completely different company, caught in the results only because those four letters sit inside its name. The lesson when searching a register: match the full name, and do not stop at the first approximate result.
The ASIC register on the same day has no licence under the name Octa; this broker has no Australian licence.
| CySEC register, 12/09/2026 | |
|---|---|
| Licence number | CIF 372/18 |

Octa Markets Cyprus Ltd Licence Number : 372/18 Licence Date: 10/12/2018 Company Registration Number : 359992
Typing "OctaFX" into the CySEC search box returns no results. Not because the licence does not exist, but because the register only stores the entity name, which is Octa Markets Cyprus Ltd. Search by number 372/18 and it appears.
The same regulator keeps one more list that few people open: the domains each entity is allowed to
operate. For Octa Markets Cyprus Ltd, that list has
14 domains:
www.octabroker.eu, www.octatrade.eu, www.octa.broker and others.
A domain you sign up on that is not in that list belongs to a different entity, not the Cyprus entity above.
Legal standing for Vietnamese clients: which licence covers you?
The short answer: none of the licences listed above. CySEC oversees the Cypriot entity, FSCA oversees South Africa, while Vietnamese clients' accounts are opened under the offshore legal entity, with higher leverage but outside those supervisory frameworks.
Add CySEC's suspension of the controlling shareholder's voting rights (9/2025) and the asset attachment in India, and I put OctaFX's legal side in the must-monitor category rather than the rest-easy category. Before you register, open the terms and read the exact name of the legal entity you are signing with.
Trading fees: no commission, so where does the broker make its money?
In the spread. OctaFX runs floating spreads from 0.6 pip and charges no commission on either option: the Standard account on MT4/MT5, and the account on its proprietary OctaTrader platform.
This structure is easy for beginners to understand, one number and you are done, but a floating 0.6 pip is not the lowest on the market, and it will widen when news comes out. Frequent traders should measure it themselves before deciding whether it is cheap or expensive.
Deposits and withdrawals at OctaFX
The channels are fairly complete for Vietnamese users: domestic bank transfer, card, e-wallets, crypto. Most withdrawals are processed quickly depending on the method; e-wallets and crypto usually arrive faster than bank transfers, and fully KYC-verified accounts are less often held back for additional questions.
Platforms: MT4, MT5 and OctaTrader
Full MT4/MT5 for those already used to them, plus the proprietary OctaTrader platform. This is the broker's main card with beginners: a simple interface, with copy trading. Those who need specialised tools will find this ecosystem a little thin.
Two legal events that mean OctaFX no longer has a “clean record”
Judging by the record: CySEC/FSCA/FSA licences, 15 years of operation since 2011. OctaFX is not a scam model. I stand by that conclusion.
But I am also not going to write that sentence and stop there, like a formula. The two legal events, CySEC suspending the controlling shareholder's voting rights in 9/2025 and the attachment of more than 26.81 billion rupees in India, are the kind of signal that a broker with a “clean record” does not have.
They are not enough to call it a scam, but more than enough for you not to put large capital here.
Ordinary negative reports (misunderstanding the conditions, blowing the account through leverage, being asked for more documents when withdrawing a large amount) still make up the majority, and the last of these is a compliance procedure, not a trick to hold on to money. OctaFX is not licensed in Vietnam. You bear responsibility for your own choice.
Who is OctaFX for?
The right fit: people with small capital who like a one-number fee structure and want a simple platform with copy trading. The wrong fit: high-frequency traders who need raw spreads, and people who want absolute legal peace of mind. Whichever group you are in, starting with small capital and testing a withdrawal early is still the right order.
- Low minimum deposit (25 USD)
- No commission on the main accounts
- User-friendly OctaTrader platform
- Copy trading supported
- Few specialised account types
- Spreads are not the lowest on the market
Check OctaFX yourself before depositing a large amount
- Real cost. Open the price board on your own account at two different times of day, then add spread and commission into a cost per lot. The figure the broker publishes is an average; what you get on a given trade can be higher.
- Withdrawal speed. Withdraw a small amount first and note when you requested it and when the money arrived. Speed depends on the payment channel and your verification status, so there is no single figure.
- Legal entity. Read the company name in your account terms. That name decides where you can complain.
