Is Vantage legit? The ASIC licence and the entity you sign with

No regulator or court has concluded that Vantage is a scam. It has operated since 2009 and holds licences from ASIC (Australia) and the FCA (UK), two regulators in the strictest group in the world.

We score it 4.98/5, on the strength of its Tier-1 licences, meaning licences from the strictest group of regulators such as the FCA and ASIC, and its Raw ECN conditions. What to verify before depositing is which entity holds your account.

The good side: the Tier-1 licences are real

  • ASIC (Australia) and the FCA (UK) sit in the strictest group of regulators, with clear investor protection mechanisms. Vantage also holds CIMA and FSCA licences.
  • Operating since 2009 (formerly Vantage FX), with public legal entities, not a brand put together a few months ago.
  • Good trading conditions: the Raw ECN account has spreads (the gap between the buy and the sell price) from 0.0 pip and a 50 USD minimum deposit (lower than IC Markets), and MT4, MT5, TradingView and cTrader are all supported.
  • Scalping and EAs are allowed (very short trades and automated trading programs), and copy trading is available through DupliTrade and Myfxbook AutoTrade.

What to know before depositing: Vantage is not licensed in Vietnam, like every forex broker

The State Bank of Vietnam has not licensed any forex broker in Vietnam (VnExpress, 07/05/2025). That is the situation for the whole industry, true of Exness, XM and IC Markets as well, not a warning about Vantage in particular.

In practice: no Vietnamese compensation scheme or deposit insurance stands behind the money you deposit. If someone tells you Vantage is “licensed in Vietnam”, that is false information.

For beginners the question becomes whether this broker suits that level of experience; that part is covered in whether Vantage suits beginners.

So should you use Vantage?

The honest answer: it depends on how much risk you accept. Here is a framework to decide for yourself:

You are Recommendation
A beginner who has never tradedStart with a demo account, then a Standard account with small capital
Planning to deposit a large amountVerify your ID first, test a small withdrawal, then add capital
Experienced and need TradingView/cTraderA good fit: Raw ECN, TradingView, cTrader
Already holding money at VantageWithdraw part of it now to test the process

If you still use it: 5 rules to follow

  1. Test a withdrawal early and small. Right after your first few trades, withdraw a small amount to test the process while the account does not hold much money. This is the cheapest test there is.
  2. Do not let a large balance sit for long. Withdraw profits regularly instead of letting them build up in the account.
  3. Your bank account name must match exactly the name on your KYC profile (the identity verification you complete with the broker); a one-letter mismatch is a valid reason for the broker to block a withdrawal.
  4. Avoid any bonus programme with complicated conditions. This is a common source of withdrawal disputes.
  5. Keep all the evidence: screenshots of withdrawal requests, your conversations with support, statements. If a dispute arises, you will need them.

Telling a licensed broker apart from a scam broker

This line matters, because lumping the two together leads to wrong decisions in both directions: too scared and you miss out, too relaxed and you lose money:

Vantage does not belong with Wefinex, Busstrade or FX Trading Markets in our warning files. Those are platforms that collapsed or were reported by victims.

Vantage is a broker with licences you can check. The job is to read the right entity and the terms of your own account.

The legal entity stack (the specific company that signs the contract with you), updated 04/08/2026

Below are four legal entities carrying the Vantage name, with licence numbers so you can check them yourself:

  • Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd. ASIC (Australia), AFSL 428901. Check it on ASIC Connect.
  • Vantage International Group Limited. CIMA (Cayman Islands), SIBL 1383491.
  • Vantage Global Limited. VFSC (Vanuatu), registration number 700271, under Section 4 of the Financial Dealers Licensing Act [CAP 70].
  • The UK entity under the FCA, which you can check on the FCA Register.

This is the part that matters: those four regulators do not protect you equally. The UK compensation scheme, the FSCS, states its ceiling as a figure:

“If the firm failed after 1 Apr 2019 - up to £85,000 per eligible person, per firm.”

FSCS, “What we cover: Investments” page, read 24/08/2026. Open source ↗

That figure applies to the UK entity. The ASIC entity has strong supervision and an independent complaints scheme, but no equivalent compensation fund.

Cayman and Vanuatu have no equivalent compensation fund either, meaning a fund that pays clients when a licensed firm goes insolvent. If the broker fails, nobody pays in its place.

Clients in Vietnam usually sit under the Cayman or Vanuatu entity. So “the Tier-1 licences are real” is true, but it is true of the group, not necessarily of your account.

A 30-second self-check: open your account confirmation email and find the company name. If you see Vantage Global Limited or Vantage International Group Limited, you are under an offshore entity, registered on an island state where supervision is much lighter. None of the compensation figures above applies to you.

“The Tier-1 licence is real” holds for the group, not necessarily for your account.

Verify it yourself, do not trust anyone one-sidedly

That includes us. Do three things yourself: type the official domain by hand (do not click ads), look up the ASIC/FCA licence number at the source on the regulator’s website, and check which legal entity is named on your own contract.

Clients in Vietnam usually fall under an offshore entity rather than ASIC/FCA, which means a different level of protection from what the ads suggest. The full process is in how to verify a forex broker.

Read the detailed Vantage review as well, or compare it with other brokers in the broker ranking. If you are having trouble withdrawing at any broker, see what to do in account locked and cannot withdraw.

Three things nobody can conclude for you, and why they matter more

Vantage publishes a licence stack of ASIC · FCA · CIMA · FSCA. But a licence belongs to a legal entity, not to a brand.

Clients in Vietnam are usually not accepted into the entities holding the ASIC (Australia) and FCA (UK) licences, because those regulators only protect residents of their own regions.

In practice you usually sign with the group’s international entity (CIMA Cayman or VFSC Vanuatu), where there is no investor compensation fund.

So the question of “who steps in when there is a dispute” matters: the UK entity has the FSCS (up to £85,000) and an independent adjudicator, while the Cayman entity has neither.

That is why we take points off this broker rather than just adding a note. A comparison across 20 brokers: does a Tier-1 licence protect clients in Vietnam.

Only you can check which entity holds your account, and it is worth checking before you deposit, not after.

Take the company name from your confirmation email and look it up on ASIC Connect and the FCA Register. If it appears in neither, you have no regulator to complain to other than the broker itself.

One detail the ads rarely mention: there is no door to knock on in Vietnam. The State Bank of Vietnam has not licensed any forex broker (VnExpress, 07/05/2025), so a dispute will be handled under the law of the place where the entity is registered, not the law of the place where you live.
